Wisconsin Medical Society, the largest association of medical doctors in the state, seeks attorney to join our team of professionals in providing legal advice to the Society and its affiliated entities; interpreting laws relating to the practice of medicine; analysis of risk management; contract review; presentations and general corporate work. Further, this position provides support for our governance structure; compliance law; non-profit and corporate regulations; and laws relating to the practice of medicine. Our legal team provides education, research and legislative support for our expanding physician membership and full legal service to the Society.
This is a staff-level position that requires JD, Wisconsin law license and minimum 2-4 years legal experience. Health care and association experience desirable, as is experience with contract law, HIPAA rules, and the insurance industry. Position requires strong analytical and research skills and exceptional verbal and writing skills.

Senior Accountant
Wisconsin Medical Society provides advocacy, education, insurance products and quality/efficiency services for our physician members and their staff. Our Sr. Accountant provides accounting and financial reporting through our general ledger system, develops and maintains reports, compiles budgets/financial reports, and handles grant reconciliations. The Society is a 501(c)6 professional association with a for-profit insurance division and a foundation.
Position requires CPA license or eligibility and 2-4 years accounting experience in GL, AP, AR, budgeting and financial statement preparation. Experience with insurance industry, association management and budgeting a plus. Experience in corporate tax and/or grant reconciliation preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong communication skills required.

Health Policy Internship
The Wisconsin Medical Society is seeking a graduate Health Policy Intern. This is an excellent opportunity for students aiming to turn policy research into action. The Health Policy Intern will:
- Prepare appropriate white papers and reports for a major current health policy issue
- Conduct basic policy research:
- Prepare policy reviews for physician Councils and the Board of Directors
- Assist the Government Relations team in analyzing proposed legislation and administrative rules
- Respond to member inquiries about Society policy
- Assist with Council attendance, outreach, agenda preparation and minutes
- Assist with the Society’s Annual Meeting in April
- Learn from watching the Government Relations team in action
This Intern can expect to develop strong and practical research and writing skills, experience proactive policy development in a real-world setting, and learn at the intersection of research, policy and politics.
