Allied Wellness Center, Madison
Community Cookbook Project
Production of a neighborhood cookbook in the Allied Drive Neighborhood, Madison, to increase resident knowledge and awareness of healthy food choices and connection to their community.
Award: $2,200


Ashland County Health Department, Ashland
Preventing Childhood Obesity
Development of materials to address childhood obesity as recommended through work completed during Holly Grunt’s 2007 Summer Fellowship in Government and Community service. Ms. Grunst under the supervision of Terri Kramolis, Ashland County Public Health Supervisor.
Award: $2,500


St. Adalbert School, Milwaukee
Every Child and Every Year Preventive Care Project
Support for preventive care of children in primarily low income families by helping parents navigate the health care system through a wellness folder for each child and training sessions.
Award: $2,000


Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls
Metabolic Syndrome Awareness and Prevention Program
Planning, implementation and evaluation of a pilot community-based intervention to reduce county residents’ risk factors for developing Metabolic Syndrome.
Award: $9,065, ($7,000 from the Joss Trust)


Safe Communities, Dane County
Reducing Falls in Dane County Through Community/Medical Partnerships – Year 2
Year 2 of the Foundation’s support of the Falls Prevention Task Force to coordinate efforts of community organizations and the medical community to reduce falls among older adults in Dane County.
Award: $15,000 from the Henry A. and Irene S. Anderson Fund


St. Clare Health Mission, LaCrosse
Preventive Care Clinic
Establishment of a preventive care program for underserved in the La Crosse area.
Award: $2,500


University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison
Medical Students for Minority Concerns, 21st Annual Health Fair
An annual health fair to identify health risks among Madison’s medically underserved communities, which also provides a valuable educational opportunity for medical students.
Award: $2,500


Wisconsin Medical Society Alliance, Statewide
Underage Drinking Public Service Announcements
Continuation and expansion of a public service announcement campaign to address underage drinking in Wisconsin.
Award: $2,500


Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation, Statewide
Spanish Women’s Health Guide
Translation and printing of a health resource guide for primarily Wisconsin Latino women.
Award: $10,000
