New directors, officers elected


The Wisconsin Medical Society’s House of Delegates confirmed the elections of the following directors and officers at the Society’s Annual Meeting held in Madison April 11-12.

District 1
The following physicians were re-elected to three-year terms: Mark E. DeCheck, MD, Racine; Mahendr S. Kochar, MD, MACP, Brookfield; Kesavan Kutty, MD, Milwaukee; Rosanna Ranieri, MD, Bristol; Sridar V. Vasudevan, MD, Belgium. Lowell Hl. Keppel, MD, Brookfield was also elected to a three-year term.

District 2
Martha (Molli) Rolli, MD, Madison, was re-elected to a three-year term.

District 4
Mary Jo Freeman, MD, FACP, Wausau, was re-elected to a three-year term.

District 5
Karen L. Meyer, MD, Fond du Lac as elected to a three-year term.

District 7
Arne T. Lagus, MD, St. Croix Falls, was re-elected to a three-year term.

District 8
David M. Saarinen, MD, Ashland, was re-elected to a three-year term.

Young Physician Section
Andrea Hillerud, MD, Eau Claire, was elected to a 3-year term.

Medical Schools Section
Yolanda T. Becker, MD, Madison, was re-elected for a one-year term.

Resident Fellow Section
Claudia L. Reardon, MD, Madison, was elected to a one-year term.

Medical Student Section
Matthew W. Buelow, Medical College of Wisconsin was re-elected for a one-year term; Amanda Herzog, UW School of Medicine and Public Health was elected to a one-year term.

In addition to the confirmation of directors, the following Society officers were elected.
  • George M. Lange, MD, FACP, River Hills, was elected chair of the Board of Directors. He succeeds Thomas J. Luetzow, MD, whose term concluded.
  • Kevin A. Jessen, MD, Fond du Lac, was elected Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. He succeeds Dr. Lange.
  • John W. Hartman, MD, Green Bay, was re-elected Treasurer.
  • Robert J. Jaeger, MD, FACOG, Mosinee, was elected President-elect.
  • Charles J. Rainey, MD, JD, of Milwaukee, was re-elected to a two-year term as Vice Speaker.
AMA Delegation
Kevin T. Flaherty, MD, Wausau, and Clarence P. Chou, MD, Mequon, were elected delegates to the AMA for 2009 and 2010. Mahendr Kochar, MD, was elected alternate delegate for 2009 and 2010.
