University Health Services, UW-Madison, is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician (MD, DO) for a college health position providing direct clinical care to the student community, mentoring medical students and residents, and participating in quality improvement activities and activities that connect University Health Services to campus life. Collaborate with other MDs, RNs, NPs, PAs, mental health professionals, dieticians and other health care staff in the care of student patients (undergrads, grads, PhD and international). The focus of practice is on primary care, preventive care, identification of health risks and management of chronic medical conditions. Duties may include supervision and teaching of resident physicians and medical students, or managerial responsibilities for other staff providers. Sensitivity to a diverse community is essential. Candidates for this position must qualify for a clinical track appointment as assistant or associate professor in a department in the UW School of Medicine. The Minneapolis VA Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time Director of the Extended Care and Rehabilitation Patient Service Line. This position provides critical leadership and administrative oversight to a service line with more than 400 employees who provide care to patients in the following programs: the Community Living Center, Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC), Hospice and Palliative Care, Home and Community Care, Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) Case Management Program, Visual Rehabilitation, and the outpatient and inpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation programs.The Service Line (SL) is also responsible for managing 1 of 5 nationally funded polytrauma rehabilitation centers and a designated regional amputee care center. In addition, the SL works closely with the newly established Spinal Cord Injury Program at the Medical Center and is a key partner with the University of Minnesota Medical School’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency program. Investigators at the medical center conduct research in such areas as polytrauma, traumatic brain injury, and the needs of veterans returning from the OEF/OIF military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition, the SL’s nationally funded Geriatric Research and Education Clinical Center has active clinical, education, and research programs with an emphasis on the aging brain and dementia. The successful candidate must be BE/BC. A physiatrist is preferred, although applications from physicians in other specialties who have appropriate credentials and experience will also be considered. Strong leadership, collaborative skills, and administrative experience are essential to ensure that the SL excels in meeting its clinical care and performance measure goals. In addition, the successful candidate must have an established academic track record and will be expected to support and develop educational and research excellence within the service line.
