When you arrived at orientation at the start of your first year of medical school, you received your first white coat along with a note from the coat’s sponsor. Perhaps the note welcomed you to the profession, offered words of wisdom or advice, or simply extended congratulations. Did you wonder how these gifts came to you?
Every year, the Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation connects physicians from across the state with each first-year medical student who attends school in Wisconsin. The physicians are delighted to reach out to you because they remember what it was like to stand in your shoes. They know what faces you in the months and years ahead. They are proud of you for chosing this noble profession and wish you much success.
All of us hope that one day, like your physician sponsors, you will decide to practice medicine in Wisconsin.
