• OUR MISSION

Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

2015 Foundation School Garden Grant Recipients

The Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation has selected 14 schools to receive School Garden Grants totaling $17,182 this year. The funding will assist the recipients with establishing and expanding school gardens and incorporating healthy living activities and lessons in their curriculum.

The Foundation’s School Garden Grant Program provides funding to encourage schools to incorporate nutrition and healthy lifestyle education in their curriculum through activities related to planning, planting, caring for and harvesting a school garden. Our overall goal is to improve health and reduce overweight and obesity. In addition to generous Foundation donors, we are grateful to program partners who helped make these grants possible including: La Crosse County Medical Society, Dean & St. Mary’s, Network Health, United HealthCare, WEA Trust and Fiskars Brands.
