MADISON (April 24, 2017) – Wisconsin Medical Society (Society) members elected Molli Rolli, MD, of Madison president-elect during the Society’s Annual Meeting April 22 in Wisconsin Dells. In 2018, Dr. Rolli will succeed Noel Deep, MD, who was sworn in as the Society’s 166th president on April 21.

Doctor Rolli is a board-certified psychiatrist and medical director at the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison. She previously was director of psychiatry for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and served as associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Doctor Rolli has served on the Society’s board of directors since 2008, and just completed her fifth one-year term as chair. She is also a longtime member and previous chair of the Society’s Council on Ethics.

“I am very grateful and honored to have this opportunity,” said Dr. Rolli. “It is imperative that physicians are vocal advocates for our patients and our profession, especially given expected changes in the way health care is delivered as a result of health care reform. I look forward to taking on a more active role in the policy arena, and as a psychiatrist, I am especially pleased to be able to use this platform to help further the Society’s efforts to expand mental and behavioral health resources.”

A 1992 graduate of Mayo Medical School, Dr. Rolli completed her residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, where she served as chief resident. In addition to being a Society member for more than 20 years, she has a long history of involvement in organized medicine and has served as president of the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association and the Dane County Medical Society.

With nearly 12,500 members dedicated to the best interests of their patients, the Wisconsin Medical Society is the largest association of medical doctors in the state and a trusted source for health policy leadership since 1841.
