Madison (January 28, 2014) – The Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation is seeking nominations of physicians to recognize as “Superheroes of Medicine.”
“We’re interested in hearing stories from patients with life-limiting or life-threatening medical conditions whose physicians took life-changing measures to heal them or save their lives,” said Foundation Executive Director Eileen Wilson.
To share a story and nominate a physician, patients are encouraged to complete a simple online form or contact Heather Sonley at 608.442.3756. The nomination form is available on the Foundation’s website. Nominations are due February 14, 2014.
Selected nominees and the patients who nominated them will be honored at the Foundation’s Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison.
Proceeds from the event support future “superheroes of medicine” with scholarships, fellowships, community grants, rural resident travel stipends and other learning opportunities and fund health education and research projects that improve health for everyone.
The Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation was chartered in 1955 as a charitable organization that works to advance the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting medical and health education.
