The statement below is from Wisconsin Medical Society President Molli Rolli, MD, following today’s Senate Health and Human Services hearing on Senate Bill 74, which ensures that Wisconsin can remain a part of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact:

“The drive to improve Wisconsin’s physician workforce deficit has many fronts. The Interstate Medical Licensure Compact is one of those tools that can help cut through needless red tape when a physician wishes to be licensed to practice in Wisconsin.

“The state’s physicians deeply appreciate Senator Testin and Rep. VanderMeer authoring legislation to ensure Wisconsin can remain in the compact and ensure our citizens have greater access to high-quality and comprehensive medical care.”

With physician members statewide dedicated to the best interests of their patients, the Wisconsin Medical Society is the largest association of medical doctors in the Wisconsin and a trusted source for health policy leadership since 1841.
