PUB-039: Social Determinants of Health

Social Determinants of Health: The Wisconsin Medical Society recognizes social determinants of health (SDOH) to be the circumstances in which people are born, grow up, live, learn, work and age, and the systems put in place to deal with health and illness. These circumstances are, in turn, shaped by a wider set of forces including economics, policies and politics. The Wisconsin Medical Society is committed to addressing SDOH through education and strategies of public health policy development, emphasis of primary care-driven approaches and building of collaborative community-based partnerships.
