Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

Society offers webinar next week
about Health Insurance Marketplace

To assist physicians and clinics with the launch of the Health Insurance Marketplace, the Wisconsin Medical Society is hosting a complimentary webinar from 9 to 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 15. Chris Rasch, the Society’s director of state and federal relations, will discuss how the Marketplace (also known as the health insurance exchanges-HIE) will be structured and offer practical guidance for managing this change in operations and new patient population.

Participants in the webinar, HIE: What Physician Practices Need to Know, will learn how the state and federal exchanges differ and how they will affect payment, practice operations and quality expectations. Although there is no cost to participate, registration is required. Click here to register.

The October 1 launch of the exchanges has received significant coverage in the news media; however, several other dates are important for physicians and clinics as they make the transition to this key component of the Affordable Care Act. Key dates and resource links are available on the Society’s website; for more information, e-mail Chris Rasch.
