The Wisconsin Health Information Technology Extension Center (WHITEC) is expanding its services to specialty physicians as part of WHITEC Services Group. Since 2010, WHITEC has been helping primary care physicians and other health care professionals successfully implement and use electronic health records (EHRs).
WHITEC has assisted thousands of physicians and other health care professionals with the state and federal EHR Incentive Program requirements. “We’ve had numerous requests from specialty providers seeking assistance, but were limited by our federal contract requirements,” said WHITEC Services Group Project Director Jesi Wang in this news release. “The formation of WHITEC Services Group enables us to now meet this critical need.”
More than 2,200 primary care physicians and other health care professionals utilize WHITEC’s services, which includes training, workflow redesign, EHR implementation readiness assessments and other customized assistance. As the federally designated Regional Extension Center for Wisconsin, WHITEC originally was formed as a consortium that included the Wisconsin Medical Society, MetaStar Inc., the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association, the Wisconsin Hospital Association and the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. More information about the WHITEC Services Group is online.
