Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

New website offers details
about Health Insurance Marketplace

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched a new, consumer-focused website and 24-hour call center in preparation for open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace. Functionality will be added throughout the summer so that by October patients will be able to create accounts, complete an online application and shop for qualified health plans.

The website – www.HealthCare.gov – includes educational information to help patients learn what they can do to prepare for open enrollment, according to this news release. “In October, HealthCare.gov will be the online destination for consumers to compare and enroll in affordable, qualified health plans,” said Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Marilyn Tavenner.

Wisconsin Medical Society staff members also will offer a webinar later this summer to assist physicians and their staffs with this new option available to patients. Watch Medigram and the Society’s website for details.
