The Wisconsin Medical Society and physician specialty societies are finalizing plans for Doctor Day at the State Capitol on February 12. Doctor Day is a unique opportunity for physicians and medical organizations to advocate on behalf of their patients and the medical profession.
Participants will gather at 9 a.m. for a short program which includes a briefing on critical health care issues. Gov. Scott Walker, U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan and the chair of the Medical Examining Board, have been invited to speak.
Staff members from the sponsoring organizations will schedule meetings with state legislators, which begin at 1:15 p.m. The day will conclude with a reception for participants at 3 p.m. Register today via this short online form.
Physicians, residents and medical students who are active or want to become active with the Wisconsin Medical Society or their specialty society are encouraged to participate. Additional information will be shared in Medigram and on the Society’s website as locations and speakers are confirmed.
Please e-mail Chris Rasch, the Society’s director of state and federal relations, with any questions.
