Contract negotiation, HIPAA
event is Nov. 12

The Wisconsin Medical Society and American Medical Association (AMA) invite all physicians to a complimentary networking event highlighting employment contract negotiations and recent HIPAA updates. There is no cost for the evening event on Tuesday, November 12 at the Society’s headquarters in Madison; however, registration is required.

Wes Cleveland, an attorney in the AMA’s Private Sector Advocacy unit, will lead the discussion about the new HIPAA requirements, which took effect September 23. He will address business associate agreements, notice requirements for privacy practices, breach notifications, disclosure of protected health information and recent enforcement activity – especially in regard to physicians. Mr. Cleveland also will discuss employment contract negotiations.
