Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

Medicare Part B moves
to NGS Saturday

All physicians and health care professionals in Wisconsin who currently submit Medicare Part B claims to Wisconsin Physicians Service will transition to National Government Services (NGS) on September 7, when NGS takes over as the Medicare Administrative Contractor for Jurisdiction 6 (J6).

The Wisconsin Medical Society continues to work closely with NGS to ensure a smooth transition to the new Medicare Part B MAC for J6. As part of this effort, Society Director of Educational Strategies Jen Cohrs CPC, CPMA, CGIC, and Christine Obergfell, CPC, from NGS offered a complimentary webinar NGS Transition for Part B Providers earlier this summer. The webinar is available for viewing at no cost via the Society’s Continuing Education Center.

The Society also is partnering with NGS for Mastering Medicare in 2014–the Society’s popular fall seminar–on October 29 in Madison, October 30 in Brookfield and October 31 in Green Bay. Participants will learn about Quality Resource Utilization Reports, navigating the NGS Medicare website and NGS Connex, the Meaningful Use EHR incentive programs, the 2014 Physician Fee Schedule, and quality and data reporting.
