Six health care organizations, who collectively provide service to 90 percent of Wisconsin, as well as to neighboring states, officially announced Wednesday that they are forming a partnership for a new statewide network.
Aspirus based in Wausau, Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Bellin Health in Green Bay, Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, ThedaCare in Appleton and UW Health in Madison have partnered together to build upon and advance the clinical quality, efficiency and customer experience shared among all six organizations, according to the organizations’ press release.
“This is a true partnership among our six organizations, not a merger or consolidation. It will allow us to more rapidly learn from each other, share best practices and serve the needs of patients and families more efficiently,” Jeff Thompson, MD, chair of the partnership’s board of directors and CEO of Gundersen Health System said in the release.
According to the release, the first commercial insurance plan featuring the six organizations is being offered through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Blue Priority Network and is available now. There are plans to expand coverage options, and the partnership is evaluating other insurance carriers and products.
