Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

ICD-10 specialty-specific webinars now available on demand

The October 1, 2014 implementation deadline for ICD-10-CM is just a few months away. To help ease the transition, the Wisconsin Medical Society has created a series of ICD-10 learning opportunities for physicians. And because we understand how valuable your time is, these 30-minute activities are available on demand through the Society’s Continuing Education Center.

The series includes 20 individual specialty-focused sessions related to ICD-10’s impact on medical documentation as well as ICD-10: What Physicians Need to Know. This introductory program, which is recommended for completion before the specialty activities, covers the broad fundamentals and impact of ICD-10. Specialties available immediately are anesthesiology, emergency medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology and oncology. To view a list of additional specialties and dates they will be available, click here.

Approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, these activities assist specialists in identifying gaps in medical record documentation in preparation for ICD-10, as well as tools/methods to improve documentation accuracy. They are designed to explore specific ICD-10 diagnosis categories within each specialty that will require certain documentation details in order to achieve coding specificity.
