Young Physician Section nominations sought

The Wisconsin Medical Society’s Young Physician Section (YPS) is seeking nominations for a number of leadership positions. The YPS includes physicians younger than 40 and those who have been practicing for less than five years. YPS members are encouraged to apply for the following available spots on the YPS Governing Council to ensure that young physicians’ voices are being heard on important issues.

  • Chair-elect (one-year term)
  • Member At-large (one-year term)
  • AMA YPS Delegates (2 positions, two-year term) – must be able to attend the AMA Annual meeting June 6-7, 2014 in Chicago and AMA Interim meeting November 7-8, 2014 in Dallas.
  • Wisconsin Medical Society House of Delegate YPS Delegate (two-year term) – must be able to attend the Society Annual meeting April 5-6, 2014.

Applications for the YPS leadership positions will be accepted through Saturday, March 14. Physicians interested in any of the positions above may click here to complete the online form. Applications will be posted in the members-only area of the Society’s website. Candidates elected as nominees will be required to complete a conflict of interest form, which also will be posted online.

A conference call is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, March 19 for anyone who would like to hear from the applicants and discuss resolutions for the upcoming House of Delegates meeting. An election notice will be sent March 20 by e-mail to all YPS members, and voting will be completed by noon March 27.
