Medicare eligible professionals (EPs) must register and attest to demonstrating meaningful use for the 2013 Medicare EHR Incentive Program by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on March 31, to receive an incentive payment for 2013 participation.
CMS extended the deadline for eligible professionals to attest to meaningful use to allow more time for providers to submit their data. Due to the large volume of providers attesting, data should be submitted as soon as possible and during non-peak hours to avoid system delays.
The deadline for EPs participating in Wisconsin’s Medicaid EHR Incentive Program has been extended. The last day to submit Program Year 2013 applications is April 30. Click here for more information.
Payment adjustments for EPs will be applied beginning January 1, 2015, to Medicare participants that have not successfully demonstrated meaningful use. (Participants eligible only for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program are not subject to payment adjustments.) Attestation of meaningful use must be completed every year to receive an incentive and avoid a payment adjustment.
