Veterans Affairs offers webinar on disability benefits questionnaires

In an effort to ensure that Veterans and Service members get claims decisions as quickly as possible, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is hosting a free webinar March 28 at 8:30 a.m. CST and 12:30 p.m. CST on Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs). The webinar will detail the benefits of using DBQs and the role they play in speeding up claims processing times.

DBQs are simplified, electronic forms that cover both physical and psychological disabilities suffered during military service and provide important medical information to help determine VA disability ratings. Once they are downloaded from the VA website, they can be filled out by private physicians with an active medical license to ensure that VA rating specialists have accurate information to assess disability compensation claims. DBQs use the check-box approach to simplify the medical documentation process and allow providers who have treated a Servicemember or Veteran for their condition to complete the form quickly and accurately.

The webinars are schedule to last 90 minutes. To register for the 8:30 a.m. session click here; for the 12:20 session click here.
