CME video focuses on perinatal smoking cessation

The Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation (WWHF) has released a new Continuing Medical Education (CME) video – Perinatal Smoking Cessation: Challenges and Opportunities. This CME incorporates information from the First Breath prenatal smoking cessation program and is designed to help perinatal clinicians address the unique challenges and opportunities for smoking cessation with their patients just prior to and after delivery.

The video outlines evidence-based clinical practice guidelines that are proven strategies for use in tobacco dependence, particularly with perinatal patients, and it uses three case studies to address common barriers to quitting smoking while pregnant.

Available at no charge, this CME offering is intended for physicians, including obstetricians/gynecologists, family physicians and pediatricians as well as advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, nurses and other members of the care team who provide perinatal support to mothers. This activity is approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and CE for Nurse Practitioners.
