Council to focus on access to care for Native Americans, urban areas

Access to care for Native Americans in Wisconsin, and access in Wisconsin’s urban areas will be the focus of the Council on Health Care Access’s May 21 meeting. All Society members are welcome to attend.

Debbie Danford, RN, BSN, Comprehensive Health Operations Division Director for the Oneida Nation, will present information regarding Tribal health care access. Ron Cisler, PhD, MS, Director of the Center for Urban Population Health will then update the council on the state of access in Milwaukee. All this information will help shape the Council’s ongoing work to update the Society’s policy on access to care in underserved areas.

Society staff will also present updated information regarding implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at Society headquarters in Madison. An agenda and meeting materials are available in the members-only section of the Society website* or contact Nikita Sessler at 608.442.3843 for more information.
