Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

National Rural Health Day is Nov. 20

Today marks National Rural Health Day (NRHD) and the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health is hosting an event to celebrate from 5 to 7 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Health Sciences Learning Center, room 1325.

Guest speakers from the rural health care field will give “day in the life” perspectives, and the winners of the 2014 Rural Health Video Contest also will be announced at the event.

Earlier this month, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker issued a proclamation recognizing Wisconsin’s efforts and health care outcomes in rural areas across the state. In the proclamation, the Wisconsin Medical Society and others are recognized for their dedicated support of “rural health care providers through their advocacy and service.”
