Follow the Annual Meeting on Twitter; Virtual Reference Committees close April 20

Society members are invited to follow the Wisconsin Medical Society’s Annual Meeting Twitter feed for information leading up to and during the 2015 Annual Meeting and House of Delegates (HOD) April 25-26 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison. Members attending this year’s event, or those just wishing to stay abreast on what’s happening that weekend, can get up-to-the minute information by following @wismedHOD or using #wismedHOD.

The Society will be counting down the last few days until the Annual Meeting with reminders and things members need to know. Once the Annual Meeting is underway, Society staff will tweet meeting highlights, photos and other important updates. The staff also will tweet the status of items of business during the Reference Committees April 25. This will allow members to track the progress of items of interest in each committee and plan accordingly if they intend to testify in more than one committee. (Each Reference Committee’s agenda also will be posted outside the hearing room and staff will cross off completed items as the Reference Committee progresses.)

For those who cannot attend the Annual Meeting, there is still time to submit comments on resolutions online via the Society’s Virtual Reference Committees (VRCs). Members can review resolutions and post comments online through April 20.* Comments submitted by April 20 will be viewable on the Society’s website* through conclusion of the Annual Meeting and will be reviewed and considered by Reference Committee members along with testimony received at the traditional in-person Reference Committee hearings.

April 20 is also the date Annual Meeting delegates are asked to contact the Society to register for Physician Satisfaction: The Heart and Soul of the Profession. The CME program is being held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 25 from 2 to 6 p.m. Registration is required for all attendees, and seating is limited. Although registration is complimentary for Annual Meeting delegates, they are asked to e-mail education@wismed.org to receive login information and a coupon code.

Special pricing is available for other Society members. To register or for more information, including speaker bios and the program agenda, visit the Society’s Continuing Education Center.

More information about the Annual Meeting, including a schedule of events, is available on the Society’s website.
