Depression, alcohol disorder focus of four-year CMS initiative
Depression and alcohol use disorder are common conditions in the Medicare population and are frequently under-identified. Lake Superior Quality Innovation Network (QIN), which includes MetaStar of Wisconsin, has been awarded a four-year contract to work with primary care practice providers in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin to increase the identification of Medicare beneficiaries with depression or alcohol use disorder in primary care settings. WPA fall conference on addiction to focus on opiate epidemic
The Opiate and Heroin Epidemic is the focus of the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association (WPA) 2015 Fall Conference on Addiction. Being held Oct. 15-16 at the Milwaukee Marriott Downtown, the event will explore the breadth of the problem and collaborate efforts to halt the epidemic given the troubling rise in overdose deaths from heroin across Wisconsin and the nation.
