The Wisconsin Medical Society’s Annual Meeting is just five weeks away, and Delegates are reminded to make hotel reservations before next week’s March 24 deadline. The House of Delegates (HOD) will convene at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 25 in Madison, and a number of events are planned for Delegates and other Society members throughout the weekend.
Highlights will include:
- Physician Satisfaction: The Heart and Soul of the Profession. Approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, this CME program will examine how Wisconsin physicians feel about their work lives and will explore various efforts and initiatives that can lead toward greater satisfaction and, in turn, healthier work environments and improved well-being. Program registration opens next week, with a special rate for Society members and no fee for Annual Meeting delegates.
- The opportunity to pay tribute to colleagues and honor incoming Society President Jerry Halverson, MD, during the Inaugural Ceremony and Awards Reception.
In addition, the weekend will kick off with the Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation’s annual Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction Friday, April 24. The event features Zubin Damania, MD, also known as ZDoggMD, who will explore the serious issue of burnout among physicians and other health care professionals. Prior to the Annual Meeting, Society members may comment on resolutions that will be considered by the HOD via the online Virtual Reference Committees (VRC) until April 20. The VRCs give members who cannot attend the Annual Meeting the opportunity to submit their views on resolutions.
