Senate Health Committee unanimously approves Physician Licensure Compact bill
The State Senate’s Committee on Health and Human Services unanimously approved legislation this afternoon (Thursday) authorizing Wisconsin to join the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, which provides physicians another option for gaining medical licensure in Wisconsin and other Compact states. The Wisconsin Medical Society last Friday praised the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for its inclusion of advance care planning reimbursement in its 2016 Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule. CMS released the final rule Oct. 30. Read more.

Final Rule details new Physician Services’ policies and reimbursement rates for 2016
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued its Final Rule (CMS-1631-FC) that addresses changes to the physician fee schedule and other Medicare Part B payment policies to ensure that payment systems are updated to reflect changes in the medical practice and the relative value of services, as well as changes in the statute.
