The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced last week the beginning of a 45-day Open Payments Review and Dispute period.
The Review and Dispute Period, which concludes on May 15, allows physicians and teaching hospitals to review reports submitted by pharmaceutical and medical device companies to CMS regarding payments made to them in 2015.
Following the review period, CMS plans to publish the 2015 payment data and updates to the 2013 and 2014 data on June 30, 2016.
The American Medical Association (AMA) urges physicians planning to review their 2015 Open Payments Data to test their CMS Enterprise Portal (EIDM) logon credentials beforehand. To troubleshoot locked accounts and other logon issues, visit the Frequently Asked Questions for EIDM Users.
More information, including step-by-step instructions on how to register to review and dispute data, is available on the AMA website. For answers to additional questions, e-mail Medicare’s Open Payment Help Desk or call 855.326.8366.
