Council on Legislation to discuss end-of-session proposals

The next Wisconsin Medical Society Council on Legislation meeting, Feb. 12 is well-timed to review legislation recently introduced as the State Legislature nears the end of its general legislative session. One of those bills includes a proposal from one of the state’s chiropractic associations to create a Primary Spine Care Practitioner license that would be attached to the state’s Medical Examining Board.

The Council also will review the latest round of Heroin, Opiate Prevention and Education (HOPE) bills that will likely cap activity in that area for the 2015-2016 session, as well as other proposals seeking to make it to the Governor’s desk for signature.

All Society members are welcome to attend the 1 p.m. Council meeting at Society headquarters. An agenda and meeting materials will be available in the members-only section of the Society website.* Members may e-mail Casey Pieper in the Society’s Government and Legal Affairs Department or call her at 608.442.3843 for more information.
