The Wisconsin Medical Society has created a library on its website of current and past public service announcements (PSAs) recorded by members.
During the Society’s Annual Meeting, members have the opportunity to record PSAs on a variety of timely public health topics. Throughout the year, these PSAs are distributed to radio stations around the state according to the broadcast area covering the hometown of the member who recorded it. Additionally, member PSAs are featured on the home page of the Society’s website.
This year, 22 Society members recorded 59 PSAs. Topics included sparkler safety, medication disposal, prescription drug abuse, sleep apnea, skin cancer, bicycle helmets, shoveling, carbon monoxide, advance care planning and more.
