Schuller tapped to take over as Sixteenth Street CEO

Julie B. Schuller, MD, MPH, MBA, has been appointed by the Board of Directors of Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers (SSCHC) to succeed John Bartowksi, DrPH, as president and CEO in 2017. Bartowski, who has served as SSCHC president and CEO for 27 years, will retire as of March 31, 2017.

“I’m leaving Sixteenth Street in skilled hands,” said Dr. Bartkowski in this Sixteenth Street news release. “Julie is sure to do great things with the incredible momentum Sixteenth Street has going into the future.”

Doctor Schuller joined SSCHC in 1995 and currently serves as its executive vice president and vice president of medical affairs. With multiple clinic sites in Milwaukee and one in Waukesha, SSCHC “provides clinical care and behavioral health services for Milwaukee’s vulnerable populations.”

“John achieved a legacy of tremendous growth and success for Sixteenth Street—from community partnerships to increasing our physicians by ten-fold to leadership in environmental health and lead poisoning prevention,” said Dr. Schuller. “I’m humbled to fill his shoes. I’m also energized!”

Doctor Schuller was re-elected Wisconsin Medical Society treasurer in April and also serves on the Society’s Board of Directors.
