WHA offers free webinar as part of series to address opioid problem

As part of its ongoing effort to help address the misuse and abuse of opioids, the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) is offering a complimentary webinar, HCAHPS, Patient Satisfaction and Opioid Prescribing: Debunking the Myths, June 1 from noon to 1 p.m.

During the webinar, WHA’s Chief Quality Officer Kelly Court will present data that debunks the common myths of HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) patient satisfaction scores related to pain management on physician compensation. In addition, the CEO and senior clinical staff from Hayward Area Memorial Hospital will present their organization’s experience moving their HCAHPS score from 1 percent to 95 percent, entirely with methods other than prescription medication.

There is no fee to participate in this webinar, but pre-registration is required. Click here to register, and for more information, e-mail Jennifer Frank or call her at 608.274.1820.

Addressing opioid misuse and abuse also is the focus of a new webinar series developed by the Wisconsin Medical Society’s Opioid Task Force. Approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, the webinars are designed to address the challenges faced by physicians and other prescribers and to improve opioid prescribing practices without compromising the quality of patient care.
