Reference Committee reports available online

Reference Committee hearings to discuss resolutions and other items of business that will be considered by the Wisconsin Medical Society’s 2017 House of Delegates (HOD) were held at Society headquarters in Madison on Saturday.

More than 50 Society members provided testimony in person or via “GoToWebinar,” after which the Reference Committees convened in closed session to consider testimony and prepare recommendations for the HOD. The reports are posted here.*

The HOD will convene at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 22 in Wisconsin Dells. District caucus meeting will begin at 7 a.m. and a new delegate orientation will be held at 7:30. In addition to the business of the HOD, Saturday’s agenda also features the presentation of the Presidential Citation and an in-person two-hour CME program, “Wisconsin Medical Examining Board Opioid Prescribing Guideline” being held from 2 to 4 p.m. (See related story for more information.)

Friday evening, the Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation kicks things off with its annual fundraising dinner and silent auction. In addition to guest speaker Mona Hanna-Attisha, MD, MPH, FAAP, the evening will feature the inauguration of incoming Society President Noel Deep, MD, FACP, as well as Foundation awards and the Society’s Directors Award.
