Reference Committee hearings to discuss resolutions and other items of business that will be considered by the Wisconsin Medical Society’s 2017 House of Delegates (HOD) will be held Saturday, April 8 at Society headquarters in Madison.
The Reference Committees will convene at 9 a.m. and will run consecutively as follows:
- 9 a.m. Reference Committee A: Health Insurance Coverage and Access
- 12 p.m. (approx.) Reference Committee B: Quality and Clinical Outcomes
- 2:45 p.m. (approx.) Reference Committee C: Organization and Finances
Members who are unable to attend in person may provide live remote testimony via “GoToWebinar.” Advance registration is required, and participants will need both a telephone connection and a device that is able to access the Internet. To register or learn more about this option, click here.*
Those who plan to participate in person do not need to register, but are asked to RSVP here.
Following the hearings, each Reference Committee will convene in closed session to provide recommendations to the HOD on the items of business before that committee. This new format and timeframe is designed to provide members with more time to review Reference Committee reports in advance of the one-day Annual Meeting April 22 in Wisconsin Dells. Reference Committee reports will be e-mailed to Delegates, Alternate Delegates and Society Officers, and made available to all members on the Society’s website, no later than April 12.
Additional information about the Reference Committees and Annual Meeting is included in this March 2 Medigram article.
