Shawna Bertalot, CIC, ACI, has been promoted to president of Wisconsin Medical Society Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. (WMSIFS). She brings 27 years of industry experience to her new role, having most recently served as vice president of business development for Wisconsin Medical Society Holdings.
“Shawna has been a strong leader since joining us in 2012 working with our Risk Purchasing Group clients and developing our alternative risk vehicles. I am very excited for her to bring that energy and focus to growing the Agency,” said Linda Syth, CEO, Wisconsin Medical Society Holding Corporation.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Bertalot began her career with a London Broker handling the placement of Directors & Officers (D&O) and Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance. She also has held underwriting and agency ownership and executive team leadership positions.
In addition to her recent promotion, Bertalot was named to ProAssurance’s Leadership Circle for the second year in a row.
“Wisconsin Medical Society Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. leaders have a long record of recognition by ProAssurance for sales and service excellence, and that tradition continues with Shawna Bertalot,” said Kerry Kravik, ProAssurance regional vice president of sales. “Honorees are selected based on outstanding leadership, relationship management, teamwork, and new business, inforce, and retention metrics. Shawna understands the many challenges Wisconsin Medical Society members already face in today’s changing health care environment—and the risks they are likely to encounter as they grow their practices.”
The WMSIFS health care professional liability insurance team participated in this year’s WMSIFS/ProAssurance Agents meeting on October 16-17. Bertalot took the opportunity to thank the team for providing Society members with excellent professional liability solutions and attentive service. Wisconsin Medical Society Holdings CEO Linda Syth also recognized Shawna, Laura Heil Kinart, Laurie Palzkill, Collette Cesar, Eileen Mystrow, Dawn Block, and Margie Day for their outstanding work on behalf of Society members.
