Council on Legislation meeting tomorrow in Madison

The Wisconsin Medical Society’s Council on Legislation meets tomorrow, February 16, to discuss pending legislative proposals and learn about the latest updates to the state’s enhanced prescription drug monitoring program (ePDMP).

The Council will first visit with leaders of the Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants about that group’s proposed legislation, including its desire to move from a supervisory to collaborative relationship with physicians. After hearing from the state’s managing director of the ePMDP, the Council will discuss bills related to Maintenance of Certification (AB 936) and Gov. Scott Walker’s reinsurance proposal (AB 885/SB 770), and Society staff will provide updates on the latest health care policy and politics environments in Madison and Washington, DC.

The meeting will take place at Society headquarters in Madison at 1 p.m. The agenda and meeting materials can be accessed here.*
