DHS announces grants to fund addiction treatment

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced today more than $2 million in grants to expand treatment services for opioid and methamphetamine addiction. The grants will be distributed to Family Health La Clinica of Wautoma, Family Health Center of Marshfield, Northlakes Community Clinic of Iron River and the Health and Human Services Departments of Dodge and Fond du Lac counties.

“Today’s announcement is great news,” said Society President Noel Deep, MD. “Addressing the opioid crisis has long been a top priority for the Society and expanding funding for treatment in these high-need areas will provide much-needed assistance.”
