Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

Save the date: Next Doctor Day is
May 1, 2019

Following record attendance at Doctor Day 2018, plans are underway for Doctor Day 2019. Mark your calendar and plan to participate in next year’s event on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

Doctor Day 2019 is being planned for spring next year because debate over the state’s biennial state budget proposal will be in full swing then. Physicians will be able to highlight to policymakers what’s positive in the budget proposal as well as make suggestions for any necessary changes. The budget is the most important piece of legislation each biennium, and Doctor Day 2019 is scheduled to allow for maximum physician impact.

Organized by the Wisconsin Medical Society and its partners, this annual advocacy event provides physicians with the opportunity to meet with their legislators and/or staff members, and to have input on important health care issues. This year’s Doctor Day drew more than 450 physicians and medical students from across the state, and organizers would like to see that many or more at the 2019 event.

If you have questions, contact Heidi Green, the Society’s political action and legislative member liaison.
