The Wisconsin Medical Society’s Young Physician Section (YPS) and Resident Fellow Section (RFS) are both seeking nominees for leadership positions. Residents and young physicians are encouraged to get involved to ensure that their voices are heard on timely issues that shape the future of health care.
Young Physician Section
The YPS is seeking candidates for three leadership positions on its Governing Council:
- Chair-elect (one-year term before becoming Chair)
- Alternate delegate to the Society’s House of Delegates (two-year term)
- Alternate delegate to the American Medical Association YPS (two-year term)
Applications for these positions are being accepted through April 4. Interested physicians may click here to complete an online nomination form. YPS members are physicians who are under 40 years of age or are engaged in professional activities within the first eight years after residency and fellowship training.
An election notice will be sent April 6 via email to all YPS members, and voting will be completed by April 12.
Resident Fellow Section
The RFS is seeking volunteers to serve as delegates and alternate delegates for the Society’s House of Delegates (HOD), as well as nominees for several leadership positions.
The HOD, which is part of the Society’s 2018 Annual Meeting, is Saturday, April 14 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison. This year, based on Society membership numbers, the RFS is entitled to 24 delegates and 24 alternate delegates. If you are interested in participating, complete this simple online form. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
In addition, nominations are being accepted for the following RFS leadership positions for a 2018-2019 term:
- RFS Representative to Society Board of Directors
- Vice Chair
- At-large Governing Council Members
- American Medical Association RFS Delegates
- District Regional Councilors
