WisMed OnCall focuses on progress in opioid crisis

The latest episode of WisMed OnCall, “Some Light in the Darkness,” features a conversation between Michael McNett, MD, and Mark Grapentine, JD, who discuss new data that show a reduction in opioid prescribing, a little history and what’s next.

Doctor McNett is a pain management physician with Advocate Aurora Health, who chairs the Wisconsin Medical Society’s Opioid Task Force, and Grapentine is the Society’s senior vice president of Government Relations. During the podcast, they discuss factors that led to the current crisis, the sea change that is beginning to occur in terms of opioid prescribing, and what still needs to be done to treat patients dealing with addiction.
