Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

Wisconsin Medical Society Insurance and Financial Services rebrands as WisMed Assure

As part of its evolving strategy to increase awareness, engagement and business with physicians, resident and medical students, Wisconsin Medical Society Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. is now doing business as WisMed Assure.

“On a practical level, our name was just too long and, honestly, a little boring. WisMed Assure injects meaning, purpose and promise into our name,” said Linda Syth, ACI, CEO of Wisconsin Medical Society Holdings Corporation, a subsidiary of the Wisconsin Medical Society which owns and operates WisMed Assure. “We wanted to describe the outcome our clients experience rather than the products and services we sell.”

With its relaunch, WisMed Assure is refocusing on its deep, physician-first roots.

“We believe physicians who feel confident about their personal financial security enjoy greater freedom to focus on their patients, practice high-quality medicine and experience more joy in their career,” said WisMed Assure President Shawna Bertalot, CIC, ACI. “That’s why our number one job is to earn the right to be the financial partner for life for all Wisconsin physicians. And as the only Wisconsin-based insurance firm exclusively serving the medical community, we have the experience and resources needed to reduce complexity and eliminate inefficiency. This means we help physicians make every financial and insurance decision quickly, easily and with greater confidence.”

The WisMed Assure relaunch is driven by four core principles:

  • No matter how tough the circumstance, there is joy in caring for others.
  • We must continuously earn the right to be financial partners for life.
  • Our success is measured by the outcomes we cause.
  • It is our moral duty to gather, develop, share and apply wisdom.

“The modernization of insurance and financial services is an integral part of fulfilling our renewed and reinvigorated physician-first focus. And, it is just one of several major steps forward the Society is taking. There’s more to come,” said Society CEO Clyde “Bud” Chumbley, MD, MBA.

Profits generated by WisMed Assure go back to the Society to support its mission of advancing the health of the people of Wisconsin.
