More than 30 chief medical officers, medical directors and other senior physician leaders from health care organizations throughout the state convened in Arbor Vitae, Wis. last week for the Wisconsin Medical Society’s inaugural CMO Leadership Summit.
The three-day event held Oct. 11-13 at the Red Crown Lodge featured topics and speakers aimed at helping bridge the gap between the clinical and operational sides of medicine.
“Being a physician leader is a tough job and it was really rewarding to be able to bring together this group to share their insights and experience,” said Society CEO Clyde “Bud” Chumbley, MD, MBA. “The speakers were excellent, and perhaps even more valuable were the resulting conversations. We started a valuable dialogue and I’m looking forward to building on that in the coming year.”
Topics included creating a culture of health, market forces driving physician compensation, big data, how to deal with disruptive physicians, physician wellness, optimal use of health information technology and more.
Next year’s CMO Leadership Summit will be September 26-28 at the Red Crown Lodge in Arbor Vitae, Wis. Click here for more information about this year’s event, and if you would like to receive updates about next year’s summit, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
