Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

Weigh in now on surprise billing proposals with WisMed Voice

Thanks to the medical community, the US Congress has been hearing concerns about the best path forward to protect patients and physicians in resolving out-of-network payments. One size fits all health care doesn’t solve the problem of surprise medical bills.

The Society, the American Medical Association and several medical specialty associations around the country continue to educate Congress on why an independent resolution process is in the best interest of patients and physicians.

In order to continue this momentum, please text WISMED to 52886. Take action and send a message to Congress and Senators Baldwin and Johnson—it takes 60 seconds or less! It’s impactful for representatives to hear directly from physicians (and constituents)!

You can also deliver this message in person. Many of our federal legislators hold town halls in districts where any constituent can attend and ask questions. You can find more information on August town halls through the town hall project. Society staff are also busy talking directly with offices to schedule opportunities in districts for our members to speak directly with our Federal legislators and their staff.

Thank you for your continued engagement on this issue!
