Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

Proposed governance changes; member input requested!

At the 2019 House of Delegates (HOD) meeting in April, 2019, the Society’s Board of Directors (Board) unanimously introduced a potential amendment to the Society’s Constitution aimed at improving the Society’s policymaking structure. Currently, policy ideas are brought forward at the annual HOD meeting. The proposed change would move that one-time-per-year process into a year-round endeavor by empowering the Board with approval powers. Amending the Society’s Constitution is a two-year process, with proposed changes introduced one year and then a vote on those changes at the subsequent HOD meeting.

We need to hear from you about how you’d like the Society to better involve more physician members in the policymaking process. You can visit this page on the Society’s members-only site* to share your thoughts. Help us learn how to tap in to your expertise, when and where you want to provide it!
