Reference Committees this Saturday in Madison; also available online

Reference Committee hearings for the Wisconsin Medical Society’s 2019 House of Delegates (HOD) are this Saturday, March 23 at 9 a.m. at Society headquarters in Madison. The hearings provide the opportunity for Society members to discuss resolutions and other items of business that will be considered by the HOD when it meets on April 7.

Members who are unable to attend the Reference Committees in person may participate via “GoToWebinar.” Advance registration is required for those who wish to provide testimony, and participants will need both a telephone connection and a device that is able to access the Internet. Click here for more information and here to register.

Following the hearings, each Reference Committee will convene in closed session to provide recommendations to the HOD on the items of business before that committee. Reference Committee reports will be e-mailed to Delegates, Alternate Delegates and Society Officers, and made available to all members on the Society’s website.

Resolutions are accessible online through the Society’s Virtual Reference Committees (VRCs).* Society members may submit comments for consideration by the Reference Committees until 4 p.m. on Friday, March 22. After the Reference Committees publish their reports, members and delegates may comment online about individual items within the reports. More information about VRCs, including instructions, is here.
