• OUR MISSION

Improve the health of the people of Wisconsin by supporting and strengthening physicians' ability to practice high-quality patient care in a changing environment.

Employee Benefits

We take care of you

To earn the right to be your Financial Partner for Life, we constantly seek to find and develop new and better employee benefit solutions for physicians who are practice leaders as well as individual students and physicians.

What we offer

Below is a brief synopsis of all of the services we currently offer physicians and medical students. Contact us here to get started with any of these employee benefit solutions today!

Association Health Plan
Managed by physicians for physicians

Meeting the ever-changing needs of independent practices, the Wisconsin Medical Society Association Health Plan protects your independence while giving you the purchasing power of a large system.
Join over 400 employees and more than 1,100 members who have enrolled as of January 2018 to realize these benefits:

  • Increased premium stability
  • Simplified benefit administration
  • Year-round group enrollment
  • Statewide provider options via the WPS Statewide Network
  • Convenient online enrollment and underwriting tools

You can exactly match your groups’ needs by choosing from eight available plan designs.

Getting started is easy. Any Society member can apply on behalf of their group. All we need is your current health insurance plan and participation census data.

Individual Benefits
Whether you are on your own or employed in an independent practice or by a large system, there are some benefits you do not want to do without.

And, as a member of the Wisconsin Medical Society, you are eligible for discounts and services not available to the general public. Check out some of your options and then talk to us. We are here to take care of you.

Dental Insurance
WisMed Assure offers dental plans delivered by carefully chosen, high-quality companies. You can also take advantage of an endorsed plan from Delta Dental.

Delta Dental delivers Wisconsin’s largest network of top-quality dentists and local, industry-leading customer care. Among the many reason WisMed Assure endorses Delta Dental is their commitment to cost management and wellness-based dental benefits.

Disability Insurance
Short-term and Long-term

  • Some employers may feel they already have you covered with disability insurance through Workers’ Compensation or Social Security. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Workers’ Compensation covers only on-the-job occurrences so it cannot pay for sicknesses or accidents that occur off-the-job.
  • Social Security disability benefits are only meant for severe disabilities.
  • Having a disability insurance plan in place as an employee benefit protects both the employer and the employee.

Health Insurance
When it comes to insuring your health, WisMed Assure has you and your family covered.

We work with carriers who can offer options such as Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO), Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO), and Point of Service (POS) plans.

Even though you already have one or more of these options today it doesn’t mean you are saving the most on premiums and getting the best coverage possible.

We can also provide you with Medicare Supplemental Plans and Part D Prescription Drug plans.

Life Insurance
Why buy life insurance? Typically, physicians purchase life insurance in their career because they either owe someone, love someone or both.
The next question is “How much is enough?” The answer can be simple or very complicated depending on your unique situation. For example, a recently married couple with no children has different needs than a family with two small children who would need time to be nurtured and money later on for education. Our experts can guide you towards a policy that’s right for you.

Long-term Care
Long-term care insurance pays for expenses incurred when a person needs home care, or care at an assisted living, nursing home, adult day care or hospice facility. By covering these expenses, long-term care insurance protects your assets, your family…all the things you’ve worked hard to build.

Long-term care insurance may also be needed when you are unable to meet your basic living needs for an extended period of time. This may be caused by an accident, illness or frailty. Additionally, long-term care disabilities can be due to cognitive impairment from stroke, depression, dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and so on.
